We didn't plan on opening Tasmania’s quirkiest beachside restaurant — but that’s exactly where we’ve landed.

We took over the ageing ‘surf and turf’ restaurant at Swansea’s Waterloo Point Motel in December 2021, reopening as the 40-seat Waterloo Inn one week later.

The Waterloo is your friendly local restaurant (away from home), is a warm and relaxed space you can spend time & dine with family and friends.

We like to think of it as an extension of our home where everyone is welcome. We play a mix of new and old tunes and don't turn it down. Sit back and enjoy reading vintage menus which hang on the walls.

The food menu is seasonal and changes weekly (sometimes daily) ensuring we have only the best produce from local and ethical suppliers. Expect to find dishes like freshly shucked oysters, crunchy-on-the-outside-and-gooey-on-the-inside croquettes, and a perfectly cooked lamb leg steak. The menu is designed to share but can easily be adapted into a meal for one if dining solo.

Our wine list is made up of wines sourced from near and far, with a strong focus on small producers who believe in organic or biodynamic farming and produce wine with little to no additions.
